Inspired by the colours and quiet rhythms of the African landscape, Safari in Clay and Sand is an abstract interpretation of earth, movement and light. Soft veils of clay, warm sand, dusty rose and muted olive drift across the canvas, interrupted by gestural marks that echo distant pathways, scattered grasses and weathered ground.
Rather than depicting a place, the painting captures the feeling of travelling through it—those fleeting impressions of changing light, open plains and sun-warmed earth that stay with you long after the journey ends. Transparent layers allow colours to emerge and disappear beneath one another, creating a composition that reveals something new with every viewing.
