Ember Bloom

Ember Bloom was inspired by the unexpected richness of the African bush, where prickly pear cacti gather together in dense, layered clusters and transform dry ground into something vibrant and alive. Against a backdrop of warm ember tones, the sculptural forms seem to reach upward, celebrating the resilience and abundance found in even the harshest environments.

Built slowly with heavily layered mixed media, every paddle is individually formed by hand, creating a richly textured surface that catches light from every angle. The painting shifts throughout the day, revealing new contours and subtle colour relationships as the light changes.

Framed in solid oak, Ember Bloom brings an earthy energy to a space—balancing bold sculptural presence with the warmth and optimism of the African landscape.
